Project Examples

The Connections:

Teachers and their partners explored existing curriculum related to district, state and national standards and invited students to design research-based technology products aligned with the standards.

As teachers and students collectively explored their curriculum and technology, teachers kept reflective portfolios demonstrating newly-acquired knowledge. Professional portfolios served as a token for demonstrating levels of growth and accomplishment.

Students engaged in a multitude of exploration. They used technology to discover new places, ideas and concepts. The students' newly-acquired knowledge was exhibited through individual, small group or whole class projects.

The Three Levels of Connections:

Coordinators:
Coordinators from each school district collaborated to create a vision for the project, coordinated and facilitated the connections and partnerships, and provided professional development.

Teachers:
Teachers from participating school districts collaborated with partners from different parts of the country and world. They worked toward a common goal while capitalizing on the perspectives and talents of each other.

Teacher participants communicated via the use of technology. They developed model instructional projects demonstrating the integration of technology into the curriculum.

Students:
Student participants experienced state of the art technology use, gained technology integration skills and an appreciation for different cultures. Meaningful, student-centered projects were created and new friendships were established.
